What a guy!

Was pretty amazing to meet one of the most respected and jubilated reporters of our time, Richard Quest from the CNN’s flagship program “Quest means Business”. As I admire his character as reporter and person I talked with him for a while and expressed my respect. He was continuing fwd after having around 2h tour with Slush media team in the venue. He had a bunch of funny stuff with him and some packed gear and awesome camera man and producer.

I also previously had done my Master Thesis on CNN and Richard’s colleague Fareed Zakaria and the American views of him and his guests on China.

Afterwards we bumped up with him again with our video guy, who’s also making the Slush documentary, Juhani Haukka, and got a very nice 2-min interview.

Richard was very hearty guy and behind his tough face there’s a “child”, which looked funny as it was almost as his “parents” were with him, guiding the overly excited kid to go around anywhere, anytime, with anyone. Enabling him to focus on making the show. A clever combination of wisdom and playfulness.

We helped Richard back to taxi and to airport, as there were none around. That’s Finnish “talkoo” mentality, helping others out, basically without asking anything in return. That’s also what Slush is much about, which creates the special atmosphere there during the event.
