This story In short:
* starting the (bi-)weekly posting for relatives and close friends about how life’s going in China.
* going shortly through aspects of life, where I am for now
* sharing my thought of the week in the end. This time on how I felt like Moses on coming to China last year for the first time.

* INTRO: New greetings post for close ones every week
Dear all, here we go!
This shall be my family and friends greeting. I will be in China so I will not have the chance to see all my closest relatives and friends frequently. There’s also time difference to both Europe and North America, and days are sometimes long. But I’ve decided to try to make weekly, or bi-weekly, greeting where I tell personally about how my life is doing. This is NOT a work related platform, though sometimes there will of course be parts of my work as far it concerns my general personal greetings.
I will focus here to talk about things from 6 perspectives, which I’ve outlined: family/friends, work, economy, health, hobbies, spirituality. Probably you are most interested about how I feel and how I’m doing, so focus may be on those sides.
I’ll outline to post this every Friday at 7pm Chinese time, 1pm Finnish time. Greetings may be short, or longer, text, pics, video… Let’s see what works best.
Making better habits is the key to good life.
I couldn’t find better habit than connecting with the people you care the most.
Catch you all at least on Fridays, every week, or at least bi-weekly.
I’m looking forward to this spring.

*THE BEEF: where am I now?
1st update / Jan 17, 2016.
I came back from New York, had an interesting time there.
It was mainly private trip, to see the U.S. and very importantly meet with Chloe. There was also a part of work which I did, and e.g. connected with the local startups, which was interesting too.
New York was a great experience and I really feel I could live in the U.S. I was surprised by the energy and how good I felt there. Chloe’s presence probably influenced that a bit too…. 😉
Now on my way back to China. Starting soon to prepare Slush related activities in Beijing and potentially elsewhere in China. There’s still a lot of unclear questions, but have a good intuitive feeling that this is something that needs to be done, regardless of what comes out of this, it’s a path that God wants me to walk through.
Doors open and close, but God is with you until the end of times.
Family, friends: met with Chloe in N.Y. Great week. Not the easiest, but very meaningful, teaching and enjoyable. Continuation coming hopefully… 🙂
Work: starting soon the operation in China, boots on the ground. We have a 4-people team pushing into the spring and preparing important things for Slush and China. Will start in software park, Zhongguancun, BJ. Last year was burning myself out with the sole official employed in charge of the whole thing, now responsibility devised and we re trying to give responsibility more to the local community. Still a lot of work, but more balanced way to start the second leg, and enabling more time to more holistically live a more balanced life.
Economy: got the first salary. Not too much finances, but just so, that should be able to manage in Beijing. Most important focus in learning how to deal everyday economic matters and build bridges to healthily growing of personal wealth needed for running the company called family. Ordered a credit card to China. Perhaps slightly too much spent in the U.S. but have to catch up that in China.
Health: exercised 1-2 times weekly. Want to increase that to 2-3. Mental health more balanced, though not the easiest situation, as many areas not fully clear, have to stay calm and focused and keep a good faith in doing things. Need to check how Beijing air influences. Mask, maybe air cleaner needed. Eating multi tabs pretty frequently, will add omega-3 to use. Focusing on everyday life routines, hopefully enabling balanced health, physically and mentally, also on sleeping enough, have budgeted 8h/day to sleep. It’s possible, if routines are good.
Hobbies/own: have planned 2-3 time sports, 1 football 1-2 badminton. Also 1 music occasion weekly, piano. Will try to ensure, have time for these too. A healthy person works better too.
Spirituality: have started to read, even study bible. Got a bible for me from D.C. from the Dc 10000h prayer tent. Have been reading a 40days intro to bible. It’s already on its 5th day. Not bad. Have also talked with pastor Thomas Schaller from Baltimore to join some bible studies 1-2 times a month. I asked Pastor Schaller, how to find answers to the many questions I have in mind. He said: “I don’t have answers to your questions. But this book has”, and added well, “but you need a guide, a teacher, someone to help you where to find references and lead you closer to the answers you are looking for”. This is how I recall his words. I’ve also found again Joel Osteens’s inspirational words, which made me understand much more everything what, why and how I had operated in China.
Also reading of Moses’ story from Exodus is truly inspiring, there comes of my this week’s thought.
*THOUGHT OF THE WEEK:
Moses doubts about his abilities to do the big mission: “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Read the voice in Lauri’s head somewhere early summer 2015: “Who am I that I should go to China and bring out the Slush with all its elements out to Beijing?”
God answered to Moses:
“But I will be with you, and there will be a the sign that I have sent to you.”
Yes there was. Many. So many, you wouldn’t even believe. The small miracles created the bigger miracle. After that God gave his commandments and there was Joshua following Moses.
We will also need to fortify and make our actions more professional. And even the comparison may vain, we also need to have our (local) Joshua, the followers who take the glory forward.
God is present. Also I. The Genesis 21:22, where Abraham is told by the army commanders: “God is with you in all that you do.”
You either believe it or don’t. Every miracle needs a blessing. Successes are often brought by luck. But where does that luck come from and to whom is it given and why?
Think about that when you ponder the scaling up or the next step or expansions of your startup or company.

These kind of thought for today.
Will continue back in next Friday at 7pm Chinese time, 1pm Finnish time.
Cheers all!
Love,
Lauri
